Waiting on Wednesday...LIGHT OF THE MOON by David James!
The lovely Jill (a fellow Alabamian!) over at Breaking the Spine created the Waiting on Wednesday meme for us bloggers to showcase books we're waiting on.
I've recently gotten to know this week's author via Twitter and I must say he's a great guy. Funny, witty, talented (and adorable, too!)--so I know his debut novel is gonna be great! Please, if you haven't already, be sure to add to your TBRs...
LIGHT OF THE MOON
by David James
pub date 11/6/2012
product description from goodreads.com
Stars. Fire. Blood. Magic.
One night long ago, a constellation disappeared and fell from the sky in the form of a boy.
Secrets are being kept in the sleepy town of Lakewood Hollow, Colorado. Nothing but pools of blood and dripping words are left where bodies once were, and no one but Calum Wade seems to be worried. Life unfolds in shades of red for Calum, until a mysterious girl named Kate Black enrolls at his school and everything changes. Suddenly a dangerous world of dream demons, elemental enchanters, and blood witches unfurls before Calum. He learns that the stars have forever held his destiny, and that the constellations above are much more than what they seem. As Kate and Calum sink deep into a paranormal war, they realize that an ancient prophecy might hold the answers they seek. But life is not so easy for Calum, and he can feel his heart beat faster whenever Kate is close. Worse, Kate's blood holds a dark secret even more dangerous than the war between the demons and enchanters. Soon the two find that there are worse things than loving someone you shouldn't. For Calum and Kate, even love and the fiery power of stars may not be enough to break a curse as dark as the blood that binds their destiny.
A romantic story of true love and dark curses, LIGHT OF THE MOON will leave you breathless.
Doesn't that sound great? I just love that cover, so vibrant! And such a cool premise--a constellation dropping from the sky in the form of a boy? Yes, please!

Jump Around! Jump Around! Jump, Jump, Jump Around!
We've all heard it. We've all done it. That House of Pain hit "Jump Around" might have ridiculous lyrics, but it also has one of those beats that you just can't help but, well, jump around to.
And though most of us most likely would never admit to doing so, when we blare this song and actually "Jump Around," we have fun.
Well, I've given in to that "Jump Around" philosophy where my writing is concerned, and I must admit that, though it's against my nature (I'm typically a "start at the beginning and write till the end" type guy), I'm having fun with it.
My current contracted WIP (notice I said "contracted." Yeah, that means I have more than one going right now. But, don't we all? lol) has been giving me a bit of grief as of late, and I'm falling behind on my deadline for that dreaded first draft. note: It's due by the end of the year. Yeah. No matter how hard I've tried, I just haven't been able to eke out more than a few words at a time--which really stinks, am I right?
But the other day, a great scene popped into my head, complete with dialogue and clear setting, and I had to snag a scrap piece of paper and jot down the basics of it before I forgot it. When I got home, I quickly opened said WIP and fleshed out the scene, which ultimately led to another scene and another scene. Score! But, I never would've gotten those three (yes, I said THREE) scenes down had I not been open to letting a scene farther into the book out of my head. If I had done what is typical of me and ignored it until I got to the point where it was needed, I would still be sitting here wishing for inspiration.
So the moral of today's post is this: Regardless of your norm when it comes to your writing, loosen the straps a bit and be willing to "Jump Around."
You may just find that it's a lot more fun than you thought!
Oh, and just in case you wanna give it a listen (don't lie, you know you do), here's "Jump Around." Enjoy!

Waiting on Wednesday...BLIND SPOT by Laura Ellen!
The lovely Jill (a fellow Alabamian!) over at Breaking the Spine created the Waiting on Wednesday meme for us bloggers to showcase books we're waiting on.
I came across this week's selection on Goodreads the other day and was instantly grabbed by the creepy cover. The synopsis hooked me, and I cannot WAIT to read it. Please be sure to add to your TBRs...
BLIND SPOT
by Laura Ellen
pub date 10/23/2012
product description from goodreads.com
There’s none so blind as they that won’t see.
Seventeen-year-old Tricia Farni’s body floated to the surface of Alaska’s Birch River six months after the night she disappeared. The night Roz Hart had a fight with her. The night Roz can’t remember. Roz, who struggles with macular degeneration, is used to assembling fragments to make sense of the world around her. But this time it’s her memory that needs piecing together—to clear her name . . . to find a murderer.
This unflinchingly emotional novel is written in the powerful first-person voice of a legally blind teen who just wants to be like everyone else.
Love the idea of a first person story told through the eyes of a blind person. Can't wait for next week when this one comes out!

Review...LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE by T. Michelle Nelson!
LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE
by T. Michelle Nelson
pub date 10/5/2012
product description from goodreads.com
For Lily Drake, slaying vampires is easy...Dating them is the hard part.
Lily Drake is your everyday hard-working single mom…until a gorgeous vampire shows up on her front door who she mistakenly assumes is her blind date for the evening. As one crazy scenario after another unfolds, Lily finds herself falling in love with two vampires, slaying the evil ones, and being prophesied as the savior of the entire undead race.
Deciding between pizza and Chinese take-out will no longer be one of the hard decisions facing Lily Drake once she is emerged into vampire society. Humanity or immortality? That doesn't hold a candle against this question - which of the two handsome vampire cousins?
The Life and Death of Lily Drake is not your typical vampire love story. It’s a tale about the humorous mistakes a woman makes simply trying to survive not only life, but the dating scene. How will Lily manage working full-time, taking care of her young son and fighting the undead at every turn?
Lily will have to figure it out, but who better to save the world than a mom?
My Review:
LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE was such a fun, entertaining read that held up to its promise of a vampire tale unlike any other. It starts off with a typical, everyday mom, Lily Drake, who's agreed to a blind date. A late suitor and unexpected visitor leads to Lily going out on said date with super-hot vampire Mathias, who ultimately leads her into a world filled with vampires and royal (or cursed, depending on your thoughts, lol) bloodlines.
Lily is such a great character, strong and independent and ready for anything. She is super focused on raising her son Keaton, and is ready to do whatever it takes to keep him safe--which causes her some major issues throughout this novel. I'm not gonna elaborate because I don't want to give away the story, but suffice it to say that Lily finds herself in some hot water a few times through the course of the book!
LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE is a great story filled with humor and mystery and tension that is sure to please any lover of both vampires and heated romances.
My Rating:
I'm happy to give LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE 5 Stars and urge you all to pick up a copy today!

Interview & a giveaway w/author Elana Johnson!
So just for funsies (and because she truly rocks), I reached out to the fab Elana Johnson for a mini-interview and she graciously obliged--which translates to DOUBLE WIN for all of you! Why, you may ask?
Because not only do you get to read the interview, but you also get a chance to win a copy of her newest book, SURRENDER!! (or the first in the series, Possession, if you've yet to read that one.)
Without further ado, here's the interview!
Thanks so much, Elana, for answering my questions--you're the best! I'll just jump right in, 'kay?
ABANDON, the final book in the Possession series, will be out next June. Is that a bittersweet feeling in the pit of your stomach, or are you super excited for this story to finally be told in full?
Bittersweet? Heck, no! I’m the kind of person that likes change every few years, and I can’t wait to lay this series to bed. Otherwise, I’d be bored to tears when I sat down to write.
Now that your Possession series is all wrapped up in a nice little bow ;-) what can we expect in the future from your talented mind?
Um… more science fiction? Yeah, I have one of those. It’s time travel, and it bends my mind. I’m also writing a little contemporary, and a novel in verse (also contemporary), and I want to publish a fantasy series too. Nothing is safe from me!
Before you hit mega NYT/Harry Potter/Hunger Games success (hey, nothing wrong with positive thinking), you were (and still are) a teacher. Do you think being a teacher has helped you in your writing? And on that note, do you think that only people with degrees in the writing/education field will be successful at becoming a published author?
I’m not sure my teaching has helped anything but push me closer to the edge of insanity. I’m a technology specialist, and nothing about that allows me to get training in writing (although I do get to go to writing conferences for re-licensure points! Bonus!).
I absolutely believe that anyone – no matter their education or background – can become a successfully published author. I believe writing is a craft that people can learn. Sure, some people have natural talent, just like someone is more inclined to paint or play the clarinet. But I can learn to do those things. Just like anyone can learn to write. Is it easy to learn? No. But those who want to, will.
On that teaching note, you hold down a full-time job, run your own blog, co-author another blog (League of Extraordinary Writers) and put out some amazing books. Um, do you ever plan on sharing your Top-Secret Bacon-infused Mega-Metabolism Power Juice with the rest of us, or are you stockpiling it for an episode of Hoarders?
I love Hoarders! And Survivor. And Lost. And Chopped. And…

LOL! I watch a lot of TV. Here’s the thing. I don’t write all the time. Just like I don’t teach all the time, or blog all the time. I have slots for all of those things, and when the slots are full, I’m done. There are seriously days where all I do is teach, make dinner, and spend an evening with my family watching, well, Hoarders. *gasp*
But it’s true. When it’s time to write, I write. When it’s time to blog, I blog. When it’s time to sleep, I sleep. Oh, sleep. I like to sleep…
But really, the truth is I’m good at time management, and I’m good at multi-tasking, and I have self-discipline to do what needs to be done. Except exercising. I’m not disciplined at that!
And the question I like to ask all interviewees: If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have ONE book to read (for, like, ever) which book would you choose and why?
THE ADORATION OF JENNA FOX, because I lovez it. The language of it is beautiful and sparse and it’s what made me fall in love with the usage of words.

I'm so excited to be part of the TOXIC Blog Tour--and even more so to have the author, Jus Accardo, stopping by for an interview! Be sure to visit the rafflecopter at the end for a chance to win an e-copy of TOXIC!
Here's a bit about the book:
TOXIC (Denazen #2)
by Jus Accardo
pub date 10/16/2012
product description from goodreads.com
When a Six saved Kale's life the night of Sumrun, she warned there would be consequences. A trade-off. Something taken for the life they gained. But Dez never imagined she'd lose the one thing she'd give anything to keep... And as if it's not enough Dez finds her immunity to Kale fading, the Six brought in to help Kale learn to control his killer touch starts drooling on him the moment they meet. Worse than that? Jade can touch Kale. But bimbo Barbie is the least of Dez's problems.
After Dez and Kale got away at Sumrun, her father lost not only his most powerful weapon but an important piece of the Supremacy project. Forced by Denazen to remedy the situation, he poisons Dez and offers her a choice--surrender to Denazen for the cure...or die. Determined to find a solution that doesn't involve being bagged and tagged--or losing someone she loves--Dez keeps the poison a secret. But when a rash of Denazen attacks hit a little too close to home, Dez is convinced there's a traitor among them. Jade.
Sacrifices, broken promises, and secrets. Dez will have to lay it all on the line if there's any hope of proving Jade's guilt before they all end up Residents of Denazen. Or worse, dead...
And a bit about the author:
JUS ACCARDO spent her childhood reading and learning to cook. Determined to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps as a chef, she applied and was accepted to the Culinary Institute of America. At the last minute, she realized her path lay with fiction, not food, and passed on the spot to pursue writing. Jus is the author of YA paranormal romance and urban fantasy fiction. A native New Yorker, she lives in the middle of nowhere with her husband, three dogs, and sometimes guard bear, Oswald. Her first book, Touch was released in November 2011 from Entangled Publishing. She is currently working on the next book in the Denazen series.
Find Jus on her website, Twitter, Goodreads & Facebook!
Here's my interview with Jus!
Hi Jus! Thanks for taking time to answer a few questions for my followers today! Though I could spend this time discussing Kale (which I'm sure said followers would appreciate very much), I'll get right to it!
1. Currently the Denazen Series has given us TOUCH, UNTOUCHED (Denazen 1.5) and TOXIC, with FACELESS (Denazen 2.5) and TREMBLE hot on their heels. Will these five works complete the Denazen story of Kale and Dez, or will there be more?
Hmm. I’ve been asked this a lot lately. While I can’t say anything officially, I can tell you Tremble, book three, does not complete Dez and Kale’s story as it stands. I should have more news soon :D
Ooh, exciting!!
2. One of the many things about your writing that impresses me is your ability to flesh out ALL of your characters--from the hero and heroine to those that grace but a few pages. Is character development your main focus when writing, or is this a natural evolution that comes as the story progresses?
It’s pretty natural, I think. Some I’ve got a crystal clear picture in my head from the moment I start—everything from quirky habits to favorite foods—while others take a little more time to develop. They kind of grow up on the page in front of me.
3. The Denazen world is a wide one, with many facets that weave in and out of each other to create a believable--and frighteningly possible--reality. Was there an immense planning period for this, or did the world you built come as the words hit the page?
It came as I went. The more I write, the more secrets I find out! Everyone in the world is connected in some way or another—even if they don’t realize it at first. It’s been so much fun exploring that. I’ve got a collection of little known facts—some might be obvious, while others are kind of shocking—that I can’t wait to share with people!
4. Okay, I had every intention of breezing right through these questions without asking about our favorite former resident of Denazen, but I'm getting some pretty nasty looks from my dogs right now (hey, this is my interview, I can blame it on whomever I choose), so I'll give in: Though I'm sure you've been asked countless times about Kale, what's one thing you could tell us about him that you've kept to yourself all this time? (oh, say, boxers or briefs? does he snore when he sleeps? boxers or briefs? ahem.)
LOL! I think Kale is definitely a boxer guy—but he’s not telling… Hmm so let’s see…a secret… Kale hasn’t told anyone, but he wants to get his driver’s license. Not to drive—he hates cars—but so that he has an ID. Denazen referred to him by only a number for his entire life. He likes the idea of carrying around that little card that states his name.
Aww!
5. And lastly, I like to ask all interviewees the same question--but you're in luck, because I've selected a new one, and you're gonna be the first to see it! Okay, you've been invited to meet your absolute favorite author: Who would that be, what one question would you ask him or her, and what would your answer to that question be?
Hmm This is a tough one because it’s SO hard to pick an absolute favorite! I guess if I had to pick, I’d ask Rob Thurman (whose character Cal Leandros is one of my all-time favorite fictional men) which one of her characters she’d kill off if one had to go—and how. If someone asked me, I’d have to say (ready for it?) Jade. Hah! And how? I’m sure everyone would agree that it would need to be something epic. Maybe something with explosions. Or mutated, fanged, apes…
Thanks so much, Jus, for stopping by, and thanks for giving us such a fun and intense story with your Denazen series!
Thank you! And thanks for letting me hang today :D
Be sure to visit all the stops along the TOXIC Blog Tour here!

Cover Reveal...LIGHT OF THE MOON by David James!
You guys, I'm super stoked to be part of the cover reveal for David James' debut novel LIGHT OF THE MOON! I've recently gotten to know David via Twitter, and he is a great guy--with a real talent, too. I can't wait to read his novel when it comes out in November, and I can't wait to share the awesome cover right now!
David James writes books about stars and kisses and curses. He is the author of the YA novel, LIGHT OF THE MOON, the first book in the Legend of the Dreamer series. A novella for the series, THE WARRIOR’S CODE, as well as the sequel, SHADOW OF THE SUN, will be released in 2013. Living in Michigan, he is addicted to coffee, gummy things, and sarcastic comments. He enjoys bad movies and shivery nights, but doesn’t really like writing bios about himself in the third person.
Okay, enough stalling....here's the beautiful cover for LIGHT OF THE MOON!
Isn't that great?! The uber-talented Keary Taylor is the designer behind this--check her out here. Love the ethereal sky, and that spark of light peeking around the moon. And the words are simple yet perfect for the mood of the overall cover. And that model? Um, yes please! ;-)
Here's a bit about the book.

The lovely Jill (a fellow Alabamian!) over at Breaking the Spine created the Waiting on Wednesday meme for us bloggers to showcase books we're waiting on.

AFTER DARK
by Emi Gayle
pub date 10/31/2012
product description from goodreads.com
What eighteen year old Mac Thorne doesn’t know will probably kill her.
In exactly eight months, five days, three hours and thirteen minutes, Mac has to choose what she’ll be for the rest of her life.
She has no choice but to pick. As a Changeling, it’s her birthright. To Mac, it’s a birthchore. Like going to school with humans, interacting with humans, and pretending to be human during the pesky daylight hours.
Once darkness descends, Mac can change into any supernatural form that exists—which makes her as happy as she can be. That is, until Winn Thomas, the biggest geek in her senior class figures out there’s more to what hides in the dark than most are willing to acknowledge.
In this first of the 19th Year Trilogy, Winn might know more about Mac than even she does, and that knowledge could end their lives, unless Mac ensures the powers-that-be have no choice but to keep him around.
Come on, the ability to turn into any supernatural form? I am SO there! And it comes out on Halloween--perfect!

Oh, Procrastination, How I Love Thee...
If you happen to do any sort of non-paying activity (whether it's a hobby or, say, writing) then you know full well what Procrastination is (and yes, I capitalized it, because it's that big of a deal). It's like a relentless creature from the depths of Hell--we'll call him Mr. Imp--that will stop at nothing to get what it wants--which is for you to never finish said activity.
Mr. Imp lingers in the shadows, claws out, red eyes glowing, just waiting for you to slip up and turn on the TV or open your web browser--he knows you're gonna, it's only a matter of time.
And sure enough, you do. You had every intention of sitting down to write (or throw some clay on the pottery wheel, or break out the knitting needles), but the rerun of last year's Food Network's Halloween Wars was calling out to you from the DVR, so you took a right turn toward the living room instead (um, just an example. Moving on). And Mr. Imp couldn't have been happier. He smiled, exposing his gnarled teeth, as you slid into that comfy chair and flipped on the tube. No writing/pottery/knitting today. Victory for The Dark Side.
Procrastination is evil, pure and simple. And like all things evil, it's so easy to attain and feels so good while doing it. I mean, isn't vegging out in front of the TV instead of opening your MS way more simple and relaxing? It's like a vacation from your craft.
Curse you, Mr. Imp.
But alas, we have discovered ways of thwarting Mr. Imp's devilish desire to see you fall asleep while sitting in the front porch swing (again, just an example. Ahem). Yes, we are onto him, that demon in disguise. We will not be defeated.
HOW TO KICK PROCRASTINATION'S DERRIERE
Here are a few things you can do when you feel Mr. Imp's claws scraping against your back, forcing you to watch TV or surf the Internet. Just be forewarned: Will-power is a prerequisite.
1. TAKE A WALK When you feel the urge to ignore that Word doc or notebook and pen, head outside and just start walking. A quick trip down the block and back will help refocus your brain on what it is you need to be doing instead of what you want to be doing. It works, for realz.
2. READ A BOOK Now I know this one may seem like more of Mr. Imp's devious victory, but it's not, really. Especially if you're a writer (if you're a potter or a knitter, um, try digging in the dirt or feeling up those cardigans hanging in your closet). For you see, reading is like crack to a writer. It's brain food, positive energy, research. Not only will it help thwart Mr. Imp's plan, but it will also refuel your desire to write something as good as what you're reading.
3. ALTER YOUR MEDIUM No, I don't mean force your psychic that lives down the street to change her hair color or nail polish--I mean alternate how you write. If you normally use your computer, try grabbing a notebook and pen (and to up your determination, take said notebook and pen outside); if longhand is your poison of choice, shake it up by sitting at your desk and turning on the demon box (uh, that's your computer, in case you didn't know). A simple change in your normal routine can force your brain to ignore Mr. Imp's pleas for the telly and give you that extra burst of inspiration you need.
4. LISTEN TO MUSIC Nary a writer anywhere doesn't know the effects music can have on the ol' creative juices, right? Songs basically do what Chip Douglas from The Cable Guy thinks we need: They give music to the stories of our lives. Hearing truthful, haunting lyrics have inspired countless people, so there's proof positive that it'll do the same for you. So turn on the radio, turn off everything else (yep, your phone included. This is serious, folks) and let those lyrics force Mr. Imp into submission.
5. BE CREATIVE Nothing is as inspiring as creating something out of nothing. So when you feel Mr. Imp's procrastinating fingers curling around yours like ice in winter, shake 'em off--and occupy yours with something new. Plant a flower. Bake a cake (my fave, btw). Paint a canvas. The list of creative outlets is literally endless, so find something to not only keep your restless hands moving, but also to keep your brain inspired to create. For creation is the key to writing.
I know there are countless other ways to ignore Procrastination, but these are a few that have worked for me--and still do. Please, share some of the ways you show Mr. Imp who's boss. I'll be busy walking with my notebook while reading a book, listening to music, and knitting (yeah, I got it bad).

Monday Must Reads!...LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE!
Not familiar with this little feature? It's simple, really. Monday Must Reads! is a feature I created to showcase books that I think you, well, Must Read (ha!).
This week's selection is a fun adult paranormal read, the first in what I'm sure will be a fun series. It's about vampires (score!) and is a debut novel. If you haven't already, trust me when I say that you simply Must Read...
pub date 10/5/2012
product description from goodreads.com
I am currently reading this one now and am really enjoying it--grab a copy and read along with me!

Happy Release Day...T. Michelle Nelson and LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE!
Just wanting to say Happy Release Day to my pal T. Michelle Nelson--her debut novel, LIFE & DEATH OF LILY DRAKE, debuts today!
Here's a bit about her book:

For Lily Drake, slaying vampires is easy...Dating them is the hard part.

And a bit about the author herself:
When T. Michelle Nelson was a little girl she told people she was going to be a skeleton when she grew up. Most people assumed she confused the question with "What do you want to be for Halloween?" She doesn't remember, but thinks it's debatable either way. With her love of all things monster and horror, it's possible she actually did want to grow up to be a skeleton. Years later, little has changed. T. Michelle still loves her monsters, but now she writes about them.
Originally from Western Kentucky, T. Michelle is a graduate of Murray State University. She now resides in picturesque Mount Vernon, Ohio, which is also the setting of her novel, The Life and Death of Lily Drake. When she isn't vicariously living through her characters, T. Michelle Nelson is a not-so-mild-mannered mother, semi-decent baker and lousy volleyball player.
My copy arrived last week (it's so pretty!) and I can't wait to dive into what I'm sure is gonna be a great story! If you'd like to pick up your own copy, you can do that here, here, and here.
And be sure to visit T. Michelle on Twitter, Facebook, her blog or her website, and wish her a Happy Book Birthday!!

Next Big Thing...I've been tagged!
Okay, so normally I don't do these types of posts (mainly because I never seem to have something to say, lol), but when my pal Stephanie Parent tagged me, I knew I had to give in and hop on. And I must admit, it's kinda fun once it's done! lol
So, it's really simple: I answer a few questions, then pass the
Here we go...
What is your working title of your book?
The title of the book I'm currently working on is GENERATION Z. It's the first book in my new Generations trilogy coming from Pendrell Publishing Spring 2014.
Where did the idea come from for the book?
Ooh, a toughie right out the gate. I got the idea from this book after having a conversation with a local friend in my hometown. We were talking about a very young girl (I'm talking early teens. Yeah) who learned she was pregnant--and was actually happy about it! It was really hard for me to imagine being happy about this at such a young age, and that spawned the idea of a young girl being the world's last hope for mankind to continue.
What genre does your book fall under?
I would have to say it falls under the dystopian umbrella.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Unfortunately, I haven't even had time to think this one out! lol Honestly, this series is so early in the development that I haven't thought about it. I know what the characters look like in my head, but I've yet to scope out the endless plethora of celebrity images to find real-life comparisons. But I will one day, I promise!
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Sixteen-year-old Hanna Greer is The Final Child, the last human born, and the fate of mankind depends on her chance at reproducing. Or something like that. Ugh, I hate those one-liners.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
GENERATION Z will be published by Pendrell Publishing. It's currently slated for a Spring 2014 release.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? May we see an intro?
Um, let's just say the first draft is still in the "drafting" stage, lol. And sorry, I'm not able to let you see any of it yet. My publisher would stone me.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Ooh, another toughie. Um, it has a little bit of Megan McCafferty's BUMPED mixed with a bit of Tiffany Truitt's CHOSEN ONES. Plus my own flair, naturally. :)
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Inspiration comes from an endless list of places. Other authors, books, TV shows...I'm inspired daily by countless things.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Hmm...it's the first in a trilogy, and by far it's my most challenging project yet--and the one I'm most proud of. (I may only have one book published thus far, but I've written many, lol)
Okay so here are the unlucky folks I've hand-picked to receive this esteemed honor. ;-P
(just click their names for links to their sites)
Now I know some of these guys will probably ignore this (and most likely try and kill me in my sleep) but that's okay--I like a challenge!

Waiting on Wednesday...Mystic City by Theo Lawrence!
The lovely Jill (a fellow Alabamian!) over at Breaking the Spine created the Waiting on Wednesday meme for us bloggers to showcase books we're waiting on.
I came across this week's selection on Goodreads the other day and was instantly grabbed by the awesome cover. The synopsis hooked me, and I cannot WAIT to read it. Please be sure to add to your TBRs...
MYSTIC CITY
by Theo Lawrence
pub date 10/9/2012
product description from goodreads.com
Aria Rose, youngest scion of one of Mystic City's two ruling rival families, finds herself betrothed to Thomas Foster, the son of her parents' sworn enemies. The union of the two will end the generations-long political feud—and unite all those living in the Aeries, the privileged upper reaches of the city, against the banished mystics who dwell below in the Depths. But Aria doesn't remember falling in love with Thomas; in fact, she wakes one day with huge gaps in her memory. And she can't conceive why her parents would have agreed to unite with the Fosters in the first place. Only when Aria meets Hunter, a gorgeous rebel mystic from the Depths, does she start to have glimmers of recollection—and to understand that he holds the key to unlocking her past. The choices she makes can save or doom the city—including herself.
Doesn't that sound great? The cover is amazing, and the plot is oddly reminiscent of Romeo & Juliet, which only makes me wanna read it more! And the best part? It comes out next week!
