The awesomeness that is Ginger (or G, as I like to call her) over at GReads! has created a great meme that is tons of fun. Each Friday, she poses a question for anyone to answer. Go check her out and join in!
This Friday's Question:
Love-Hate Relationship:
Which characters
from a book do you
love to hate?
Excellent question--and not an easy one to answer! I may be the odd man out on this one, but my favorite characters often times are the baddies. Those who are thrown in the way of the protag to wreak havoc and screw things up. Ursula in The Little Mermaid comes to mind as one of the best baddies ever, and I just love her scenes in that movie!
So, literary evils, huh? This list would be endless for me, so to save time (and space!), I think I will keep it to just one and go with my all-time favorite, someone who is so diabolical he makes the devil seem tame. I'm referring to...
Hannibal Lecter - The Silence of the Lambs

Hannibal Lecter - The Silence of the Lambs
This one pretty much goes without saying. Hannibal is probably the most evil, spine-tingling character ever created, and was portrayed on film by the uber-talented Anthony Hopkins in such a way that 20 years later people still have nightmares about him!
OMG! here you go again giving me nightmares :P he's definitely a character I just HATE.
ReplyDeleteHa! Good pick! I've only seen the movie, but that was creepy enough. I love to call up my mom & leave "hello clarise (sp)" messages on her phone. And the liver line too. Hehe. I couldn't think of any.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pick! I can't see Hopkins without hearing his creepy voice, but there are also definitely moments where my guard goes down and I think he can't be too bad...right? lol
ReplyDeleteMy TGIF
ha ha, dude, I'm such a wimp! I get you on the Ursula thing, but I can't read scary books. . . and characters like Lecter really mess with my mind and stay with me. I'd be curled up in the fetal position watching Strawberry Shortcake or something for hours after lol. See, me=wimp!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the congrats, btw . . . YOU ROCK!
Kelly - Thanks for stopping by...and I think he's probably not all bad either! :)
ReplyDeleteRachel - Ursula is awesome! And sometimes scary books get to me, too (IT is too much...that book freaks me out!)
And you are so welcome...and you deserve it! :)
