This book was wrought with pain and humility and loyalty and friendships tested and...honestly, we could be here all weekend! Suffice it to say that I felt that this book did an excellent job of ending what is one of my favorite book series ever! (dang it, now I wanna read this series again!)
As for my least favorite, that question is a bit more difficult. I'm honestly not one to dislike a book that often. And typically by the time I've made it to the last book in a series, I'm so invested in the characters and story that I love it. But, there is one series that I must admit I have stopped reading. It started out as one of my favorites, but 7 (or 8?) books in, it just became something so different than what it started as, I couldn't continue. And that series is...

Like I said, I loved the first few books in this series. I mean, it's a school for vampires--how awesome is that?! But, it became something totally different when the main focus of the storyline shifted from vampire training at the school. And I just couldn't stay interested. :(
What about you guys? Any series you liked or didn't like the ending?
I loved Mockingjay but I feel the same way about the house of night I read the first two and they started getting weird. I read the Vampire Academy which stayed closer to vampire school loved that series.

Mockingjay, for me, was a little lacking. I mean, don't get wrong, I love the series as a whole - I think Suzanne did a fantastic job at tying everything together. But I just didn't love it the same way I did the other two books, and I feel like it could've veered into a different direction. Still, great pick, though!

My TGIF/F&F @ YA Books
I have only read the first book in The Hunger Games series but I am already excited for that last book. As for The House of Night series, I couldn't agree with you more! I LOVE the first 3 or 4 books but at some point through the 5th book I sort of fell out of love with the series (that made me super sad because also like you, I am not one to dislike a whole lot of books!)
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough, both of those would be my picks as well. I just wish Cast would say "10 books. That's where I'm ending this HON." Heck, she could say 8 but just wrap it up already. The unknown and the steady downward spiral of the plot really stinks.

ReplyDeleteI agree HON was good at first, but not any more. I stared reading the books because my daughter reads the series, now she has the last one the came out and I just didn't pay attention any more. Mockingjay is a good book but I really wish a different ending.
ReplyDeleteI am right with you on HON. I loved, loved the first few books, because I really like books set in schools/vampire training. Plus I thought Nerefet was a yummy evil character. And then they went downhill. I feel like the authors have really gone after money, especially with the short, expensive novellas they are putting out.
